Hello VSDB Community, 5th Place ESDAA Division II Soccer Tournament Winners!!! We are thrilled to announce that over this past weekend, our VSDB Deaf coed soccer team secured 5th place out of 8 total teams! The team traveled to the Delaware School for the Deaf and faced some exhilarating competition: First Round: Defeated SMSD 3 - 0 Game 5: Won against DSD 3 - 2 Final Consolation Game: Won against Rome 2 - 1 The last two games ended in overtime, with the final game concluding in double overtime, resulting in a win! A huge congratulations to middle schooler Korbin S. for earning a Team All-Star award. His talent and leadership shine through on and off the field! Way to go, Defenders! We are so proud of you all. Congratulations once again!

Good morning, VSDB family and sports fans! The Deaf Coed Soccer team just departed this morning on their way to the ESDAA Division II Soccer Tournament hosted by the Delaware School for the Deaf. Their first game is today at 1 PM against St. Mary's School for the Deaf. Depending on gameplay, they may play again later today or early tomorrow morning. REMINDER!! Spirit Week for our Deaf Department is well underway in celebration of Homecoming, but more festivities are yet to come. Join us this weekend, October 5th, for our Homecoming sporting events against the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf and the Maryland School for the Blind. On Saturday, Blind Soccer, Deaf Soccer, and Deaf Girls' Volleyball will all be playing. This weekend is not only a celebration of Homecoming but also of our 185th Anniversary! Cane Quest is returning to VSDB on Monday, October 14! Virginia Cane Quest 2024 will be held at the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind on Monday, October 14 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Cane Quest seeks to motivate Blind and Visually Impaired youth to practice proper safe travel techniques and overall Orientation and Mobility skills. It's designed to promote a student's confidence in any surrounding and build true mobility independence.
